Dreaming during the Pandemic

How long has it been since the Covid-19 pandemic wreak havoc? December 2019 seems so far away; and Wuhan where the virus was first detected seems virus free this year with large crowds taking to the streets to celebrate the arrival of 2021 and many more big gatherings such as sports events and live concerts being planned. Locally, the Covid -19 pandemic seems to be getting worse though. The number of infected cases yesterday was alarmingly high; with 4497 cases, Malaysia secured an 8th and 23rd placing in Asia and world ranking respectively. Already people were comparing Malaysia with India; citing India with a population of 1,391,271,798 and a total case of 20,275,543 which comes to a ratio of 1 case out of 68.6 people;  while Malaysia with a population of 32,710,015 and 517,512 cases the other day, comes to 1 case out of 78.3 people being on par to India and vying for top spot, they say. So, I suppose at the moment; I 'd have to continue dreaming of taking a train up north to Hat Yai with friends which we did those good days when we haven't heard of Covid -19 and reminisce walking through Hat Yai's streets like we did in 2016....
