If you are backpacking in Ho Chi Minh city , most probably you'd staying in or near Pham Ngu Lao, the backpacker street that boasts of restaurants, coffee shops, and bars which offer cheap food and beer. It was fun walking through the many narrow alleys and lanes there in the morning and again at night when it was cooler and the place lit up and especially at Saigon Central Market where the people gathered to spend a relaxing moment, playing a game of badminton or sit and watch the crowd passed by. Yes, indeed; as William Henry Davies wrote:
