Dream of Redlands: Dongchuan Paradiso

Dongchuan, I read had been upgraded to a city in 1958 but I don't really understand why. It was quiet everywhere we went; the place was devoid of people and vehicles and it was not bustling with people and activities like major cities in Asia; and there was no traffic jam to talk of. People staying here are said to be of the Yi ethnic subgroups, the Black Yi 黑彝, White Yi 白彝, and Dry Yi 干彝 and some Big Flowery Miao 大花苗 , Hui, and Han people but the only people we saw was mostly the people in the hotel and some tourists like us, getting all excited over the wonderful scenes that seemed like paradise itself...

Dongchuan Paradiso is the place to be! I love the flowers that have bloomed over the terrace farmlands. The stepped hills are an incredible arena for Adventure Happenings , and I have already added exploring Dongchuan on my list of places to see after the coronavirus situation changes. Life will return to its "old normal" sooner or later.
