Hoi Thien had called at three to confirm our appointment. I had wanted to visit her in Selama, a little town in the border of Kedah and Perak, slightly more than 40km away from Taiping. Hoi Thien had been working in the little town for four years now and this would be the first time that I dropped by. She had promised to take me to a Chinese Restaurant whose specialty was pig throttle. I had wanted to go a day earlier but was disappointed to hear from her that the restaurant was closed that day. We made an appointment for the next day and Mr. Saw whom Hoi Thien had met in Penang a year back would join us for an early dinner at four. It would probably sound ridiculous to have dinner so early but both Saw and I would rush back to Taiping before darkness. Together with Hoi Thien and her three beautiful friends, we really had a feast!
Thanks Hoi Thien, for the great food and nice to have your company, girls!
