Borneo Break: Back on the Road

After lunch, we were back on the road. It was still a long journey and we expected to reach our destination in the evening before the sky turned dark. It was back to cloud gazing and lo, along the way now, we saw more and more long houses. A long house or longhouse is a type of long building usually built from timber and in Malaysia, it is more common in Sarawak. A longhouse is said to be built by peoples in various parts of the world including Europe and North America too and in Malaysia, you don't get to see it in Peninsular Malaysia and I could not remember seeing it in Sabah too when I visited it years back...

Clouds are a joy to look at...

I like to look at different houses too. Sometimes buildings are soo interesting. Are these long houses without interrumption? What have they do if they or somebody wants to go to the other side?

Inside the long house, there are many other linked houses, each for a family and all these houses share a corridor...Later, I have planned to show the interior; I spent one night in a long house; great!
