Ancient City Ayutthaya: Taking a Boat Ride

In the past, when the ancient kingdom had links with King Louis XIV of France, the French ambassadors reported that Ayutthaya was as big as Paris. Occupying such a vast area, naturally when travelling on land in a tuk tuk,  we were not aware that the city is surrounded by three major rivers and intersected by a network of canals. The tuk tuk driver, enterprising as ever, suggested a boating trip and  my friends and I did just that on a longtail boat, visiting Wat Phutthaisawan, Wat Chaiwatthanaram and Wat Phanan Choeng...
