I remember my brother once had a penpal from Glasgow. The port city on the River Clyde, being the largest seaport in Scotland, surely has many things to offer. On our trip to the city though, we just managed to take a peek at George Square. Glasgow owned its prosperity to trade and shipbuilding and I heard snitches of slave trade, insurance and the tonnes of money they generated and then, we were at George Square, scurrying to the loo in the Municipal Chamber. George Square was named after King George III and is surrounded by Municipal Chambers and the Merchants House. They were indeed beautiful, robust buildings, flaunting Victorian and art nouveau architecture for which Glasgow is famous for.
