It shouldn't be surprising that Gilligan's Island came to my mind when my friends and I visited the little islands off the coast of northwest Lombok. Gilligan's Island, of course is the hit American sitcom created and produced by Sherwood Schwartz in the 60s. Gilligan sounds so much like the name of Lombok's Gili islands which actually consists of 3 tiny islands – Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air. To get to the biggest, Gili Trawangan; we had to catch a speedboat at a small harbour, Teluk Nara. Frankly speaking, taking a van to the harbour itself was a joy. Besides pleasant company in the van; outside, the view was breathless; green, pristine forests, quaint fishing village, snow white beaches and at the harbour, the sea was so blue...
