Summer Holiday: A Little Big Town

I thought we were going to a factory or a shop to see some pots or ceramics when our guide and driver told us our next stop would be Portree. So, it was not pottery he meant; but a town in Scotland; the biggest in fact and the capital of the Isle of Skye in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland. While touted to be the largest town, Portree isn't really a big place. There's no high rise building and while it boasts of a harbour, it's not very busy. In the 1700s and 1840s, Scots trying to escape poverty or the potato famine left here for America. Nowadays, I suppose tourists come here to enjoy a quiet moment.
