Visiting Vietnam: A Whale of a Time in a Museum

Most probably, people interested in marine life will find Nha Trang a place not to be missed. Five km from the city centre, at Cau Da St, stands a grand French-colonial building, the Oceanographic Museum of Vietnam which has been established in 1922 and now, boasts of over 20,000 live and preserved marine specimens. If dead specimens aren't your cup of tea, I suppose it'll do to stick to the ground floor which houses glass tanks of various sizes filled with marine life such as reef sharks, turtles, anemones, puffers, and lionfish. Entrance is not free; but at VND 30,000 or 1.30 US dollar, it's not very expensive and you get to see an 18-metre-long whale skeleton too. I did have a whale of a time watching such gigantic skeleton. While there, don't forget to look up the Truong Sa Map, the biggest map made by coffee beans.
