Skye is an island in Scotland; in fact it is the largest and northernmost of the major islands in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland. While there, I wasn't really aware it was an island. From London to Glasgow, Edinburgh and elsewhere, we were always traveling in a van. We did take a ferry or a boat here and there but it was a van that brought us to Portree, the island's largest settlement and capital. As of 1995, there is a road bridge linking it to the mainland; so I suppose we had taken this route. Then, Portree isn't really big; no high rise buildings or bustling scenes like those in major capitals of the world but it does boast a quiet picturesque port where seagulls come to fly. There is a row of eating places just across the port and here my friends and I queued for a restaurant to open and when it did, scrambled for a table and waited there for dinner to be served...
