Luoxiagou, southwest of Kunming and 2600 ft above sea level is just a little town in Dongchuan. It is such a small village and in such a remote area, said to be lacking in infrastructure and proper transportation that it's said that travel agencies shun the area. I suppose then it's best to view it from afar. Surrounded by mountains; from a distance, Luoxiagou looks like any other little village and then of course, it's not the star attraction. It ought to be viewed with the green and red of the mountains and fields in the morning or afternoon and perhaps, like its name Luoxiagou Sunset Valley implies, with the sunset cast as the background too. Visitors are encouraged to come then in the late afternoon, around 4.30 pm.
