Bangkok is said to be 3 to 4 hours by car from Khao Yai; but getting there seemed to be forever. We were travelling in a cab and except for the stop for lunch, I don't think we stopped anywhere else. We were mostly confined in the cab and it did get hot and stuffy and the traffic jam in the city rendered our hotel seemed like unreachable. Then when we finally reached our destination, it was such a pleasure dragging our luggages through the busy streets to the place where we were to put up the night. After a bath and refreshing ourselves, it was a mad rush to the shopping centers that seemed to be everywhere! We were staying somewhere near the little shrine of the Four Faced Buddha...
