Songkhla Lake is to the east of Phattalung. To the west, mountains of the Nakhon Si Thammarat chain prevail. There are caves here in this little town; and I remember travelling quite a distance from Hadthong Resort to a rather quiet spot with lots of vegetation. There, we were each given a head lamp and we're then quickly led up a concrete stair to what looked like a little grilled door guarding an entrance; we were about to visit our first cave in Phattalung - the Sook-jai Cave...
