In Lombok, Indonesia; there's a spring whose water was believed to have curative power. In Scotland, besides healing springs, there are healing wells as well. A healing well known as Clootie Well has been in existence since at least 620AD. Here, to cure a person from his illness, a piece of cloth belonging to the person would be tied to a nearby tree and it's believed the person would be healed when the cloth disintegrates. My friends and I didn't visit the well nevertheless. Instead, I remember making a leisurely trek along an easy path to Loch Sheanta, a little turquoise lake fed by two springs. A sacred trout is said to protect the lake, said to have holy properties capable of curing a wide range of diseases.
