Jajangmyeon was originally the Chinese dish called zhangjiangmian 炸醬麵. The Chinese migrant workers from Shantung reinvented it in Incheon in the late nineteenth century.- It became popular after the Korean War.
- The noodle is topped with diced pork, vegetables and a sauce made of Korean black bean paste called chunjang.
- Onion and cabbage will make the chunjang sweet.
