Ah Seng said that the fishing village in Sungai Kerang near Trong, Perak was holding a grand celebration at its village temple. He had been invited to join in a feast and I had been invited to tag along. The fishing village was rather isolated and not long after arriving in Trong, I had to turn right into a small road which led to a fish farm. We were to wait for a boat there but we were late! A boat was due to come again at eleven and when it didn’t, Ah Seng suggested we go somewhere else. I suggested Sitiawan where we could go for some chendol and red wine mee suah (vermicelli).
