Borneo Break: Not so quiet at Bitangor's waterfront

When we failed to make it to Kapit, Mau Wei had suggested that we paid a visit to Sarikei, the capital of the Sarikei District in Sarikei Division, Sarawak which is located on the Rajang River near where the river empties into the South China Sea. There used to be express boat services before but now, we were able to go there by car. Driving to Sarikei was quite a pleasant experience, what with the good roads; and on the way too, we got to stop at a quaint little town called Bintangor. Bintangor is the capital of the Meradong District in Sarikei Division, Sarawak and is also situated along the Rajang River. The town is known for it gastromony, including the Limau Bintangor fruit and we heard later after the trip that there was a coffee shop there that was famous for its rojak which is a fruit and vegetable salad dish very popular in South East Asia. While there, we managed to to walk round the little town and enjoyed the quaint little scene at the waterfront ...

At the Waterfront...
