Java Jamboree: Off to Taman Mini Indonesia Indah

Our guide, quiet and seemingly lack of ideas, wasn't the best of guides. After the nasi padang lunch, we were at a quandary as where to go. The guide failed to come up with a suggestion but later, we decided to visit the 250 acre Taman Mini Indonesia Indah or literally, Beautiful Indonesia Miniature Park, which is a culture-based recreational area located in East Jakarta. Taman Mini Indonesia must have started in the 70s since the idea of building a small scale Indonesia was said to have originated from former Indonesian first lady, Siti Hartinah who was best known as Tien Suharto, during a convention at 8 Cendana Street on March 13, 1970. The park was originally located on a public area of farms and fields but traveling there now, one may not be able to see farms and fields. I remember seeing buildings, buildings and buildings ...

Modern cities are nice but I prefere more nature. In Italy, there is Italia In Miniature park in Rimini. I was there. Mmmm... Well, why not...
