Meet Malacca: Malacca's Chinatown

In Malacca, I like to take a  stroll in Jonker Street, especially the part called Jonker Walk or in Malay, Persiaran Jonker.That's akin to Chinatown and especially during the weekends when there is a pasar malam or night market, the street will be bustling with activities; peddlers peddling their wares and tourists and locals jostling in the crowds. Some may be out looking for bargains while others may be  just eating somewhere, cendol, nyonya food, chicken rice etc. The chicken rice here is a novelty to many; the rice comes in ball form. You won't be able to find this elsewhere in Malaysia. Jonker Street is hot in the afternoon but is still a fun place to be. Then, one can just opt to have a drink and chill it out in some air-conditioned establishments that have sprung out to cater to the tourists...
