There's a hot spring in Phattalung. When our van driver asked if we'd like to visit it, we decided not to because we were not prepared to take a dip in the pool. He drove us to a place out of town instead, to Pak Phayun where we were surprised with a quiet manicured garden devoid of people belonging to Hadthong Resort. Then, our van driver took us to the reception counter of the 3-star hotel where we were told we could hire a boat to an island. We took up the offer and while waiting for the boatman, explored the area. There was a restaurant where one could see and enjoy the greenery and lo! The place was teeming with birds!
