Summer Holiday: Visiting a Distillery

Visiting a distillery isn't my idea of a vacation but in Scotland, we visited one, the Talisker distillery; which is an Island single malt Scotch whisky distillery founded in 1830 by Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill, and built in 1831 on the shores of Loch Harport, Carbost. The distillery is reputed to be the oldest working distillery in the Isle of Skye and a top attraction to visitors to Carbost. We joined the summer crowd at its visitor’s centres which exhibited a selection of the Talisker range, some of which were extremely expensive. Outside the distillery, the weather was beautiful and was I glad it has a pretty view of the Cuillins.
