From Dongchuan Redlands, we moved on to Chuxiong and there we stayed at a hotel in an ancient city. The ancient city we stayed in called Yi Ren Gu Zhen or Ancient Town of the Yi People naturally showcases the culture of the Yi people, one of China's 55 ethnic minorities. It's a tourist attraction there; so, expect to see quaint shops and eating places with distinctive Yi architecture and offering handicrafts, food and other authentic Yi wares which tourists could buy as souvenirs. Then, for those who are culturally inclined, you may want to buy a ticket to have a first hand taste of Yi's music and dances. Otherwise, enjoy a horse ride in a Cinderella-like carriage!
