P for Phattalung 2: All the Better for Viewing

It was a fine morning in Phatthalung. Another group of travellers on a detox programme was having their special detox breakfast while we were having our buffet breakfast at the dining hall. Some of us exchanged pleasantries with them but then, we had to leave afterwards. We were off to Thale Noi Lake, a protected fresh water wetland; and covering an area of 460 km², the largest waterfowl reserve in Thailand. Personally, that was my third time to the lake. The first time, there were not many souvenir shops there; the second time, there was a row of dilapidated stalls offering food and souvenirs which blocked the view of some parts of the lake and this time round, the stalls had been torn down and moved to another location, all the better for viewing of the lake...
