Chuxiong is located between Kunming and Dali; being127 kilometres away from the former and 140 kilometres away from the latter. In the early morn just before we left, we took a short stroll of Yi Ren Gu Zhen, the ancient town of the Yi people. While the town was bustling with activities the night before, it was a different story in the morning. It was rather quiet then; like a ghost town. The shops seemed to be all closed but there were signs of life; a hawker was peddling vegetables in her quaint motorised cart and thank goodness, there was a stall selling hot noodles and we could satisfy our hunger pangs!
