In a crispy cold weather, it was nice walking; passing rows of private residence; and before we knew it, we had sidetracked through an entrance into a big beautiful garden. Initially, there was a wide expanse of greenery reminding of meadows in the countryside and as we walked further, we were bewitched by profusely blooming flowering shrubs. As usual, there was a frenzy of photo taking and then, we had to leave. There are many gardens in Edinburgh; chief of which is the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, a scientific centre for the study of plants, their diversity and conservation. I remember our guide telling us that we were at the botanical gardens and I would like to believe that we were there at RBGE; short for Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh; but a garden like that which was was founded as far back as 1670 has actually more to offer.
