Yunnan Ethnic Village marked the beginning of the end of our trip to the Redlands. Just before the night fell, we roamed the streets of Kunming, visiting the local stores to hunt for bargains. It wasn't the first time we had visited this capital, the largest city of Yunnan province. Standing at an altitude of 1,900 metres, the city is dubbed City of Eternal Spring because of its mild, pleasant weather which allows visiting all the year round. My first trip to the Stone Forest, or Shilin was rather long and tiring,I remembered; since new roads were being in the process of being constructed then but these days, it just takes a 19 minute bullet train ride from Kunming. The city was already big then; it's certainly bigger now and there was even a KFC Restaurant in town!
Travelling Tip : Walk round town!
