While in Edinburgh, we came across a cafe called The Elephant House Cafe. A sign there proclaimed this was the birthplace of Harry Potter; so, start imagining JK Rowling sitting at a table here, sipping a drink as she wrote sections, if not the entire Harry Potter books. Naturally, in Edinburgh, one could go for a Harry Potter-themed walking tour. Afterall, this is the city where JK Rowling found inspiration for Hogwart and where the movie Harry Potter was partly shot. Out of the city, the scene where the Hogwarts Express crossed the high bridge on its way to the school for wizards was shot at Glenfinnan Viaduct in the Scottish Highlands. In 2021, The Elephant House Cafe caught fire. The table where JK Rowling sat and wrote her masterpiece however had been salvaged.
