It was a fine morning in Cần Thơ. We didn't wake up very early and probably that was the reason we were ushered into a taxi which brought us quickly to an office where we would get our tickets for a boat ride. A map on the wall there shows the Mekong Delta. With an estimated length of 4,909 km, the Mekong River is the world's twelfth longest river and the sixth longest in Asia. Its delta is a vast maze of rivers, swamps and islands and home to floating markets, Khmer pagodas and villages surrounded by rice paddies. We were going for the Mekong Delta tour!
