Summer Holiday : A Gallery at the Mound

At Princes Street Gardens in Edinburgh, you may want to walk all day or just hang around and drink in the scene. Then, the Scottish National Gallery at the Mound beckoned. You'd think you're walking into an ancient Greek temple but this national art gallery of Scotland houses not only Scottish art but also international art from the beginning of the Renaissance up to the start of the 20th century. I was thrilled to see the work of Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet and Paul Cézanne; but really there were just too many artwork by many more famous artists for tourists like us to take all in. The latest about Vincent Van Gogh is his 1889 painting Fields near the Alpilles which was produced in a French asylum, is expected to fetch a price around $45 million in  auction...
